WHAT IS REIKI? Reiki is an ancient healing modality that finds its origins in Eastern Medicine. Through reiki, the Qi or Universal Life Energy that is old, stagnant or dull is cleared or removed from the body and new, vibrant energy is brought in. The practitioner works through the auric field and channels Universal Life Energy. Reiki is administered through attuned practitioners. Gil Casares is a third-degree Master partitioner and will provide reiki during the session. Reiki can be administered in several ways, most notably, through touch or placement of hands to the body's chakra point or by bringing the hands near or above the chakra point of any particular chakra center of the body. Reiki is not religious but can be a spiritual experience for some. Reiki works with the body's energy and energetic field. Reiki is Universal Life Energy, love energy, creative energy, God energy. Reiki can do no harm.
WHAT ARE CHAKRAS? Chakras are energy points, energy centers or energy wheels on the body. Each major chakra, of which the human body has 7, align with various glands, organs and systems of the body. It is said that when the chakra is balanced, cleared and functioning with vibrant Universal Life Energy or Qi(Chi), the physical aspect of the human body can operate with ease and optimal ability. Each chakra along with the physical aspect of the body represents an emotional and mental quality as well.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM A SESSION? Reiki sessions are noninvasive and can be done sitting, lying down, fully clothed and with or without placing hands on the body. The receiver may be guided through visual, sound, breathing and relaxation techniques. Sound and breath maybe used as well as charged metals, crystals or sound tools. As a practitioner in the discipline of Raku Kei Usi Shiki Ryoho reiki, guidance is done intuitively and therefore the hand system, is at times not used. Hand placement, when consented by the receiver, may occur. Along with this, a moment before and after session to discuss expectation and experience.
WHAT IS DISTANCE REIKI & DOES IT WORK? Distance reiki operates on the principle that all living things have a connection through energy. Also known as remote, absentee or virtual reiki, this modality of reiki allows practitioners to send Universal Life Energy to participants across distances; this is regardless of physical location. The practitioner, utilizing a reiki symbol for distance connects with the recipient's energy field to assist clearing blockages, promote relaxation and support overall wellbeing. These sessions are usually done via phone call or teleconference. The recipient meditates, sits or reclines during session.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM A HOME SESSION? Should you decide to book a session in the privacy of your own home here's what to expect and a few guidelines should be followed. Gil will bring everything necessary for the session. Arrival time may be up to 15minutes in advance of start time for set up. There must be a private room or living space available with adequate room for a massage table, unless a massage table or similar furniture is provided or present. Privacy is pinnacle. In order to retain energies present to the recipient, solitude is required of other household members and pets.
